Isaiah 27:  2 & 3

     “In the day – sing about a fruitful vineyard.  I, the Lord, watch it continually.”

What does the Lord ask of us?  One of the key things He asks of us is to “bear fruit.” If you have ever had a garden or a flowerbed, you know that if you water it, till it, and feed it nourishment, you expect it to grow and to bear fruit.  You want to see flowers, or vegetables, or fruit, or something good.  It is the same with God.  When we ask God to work in our lives, we are like the soil in a garden or vineyard.  God plants the seeds within us;  the seeds of love, kindness, forgiveness, patience, etc.  He feeds us with His grace and love and forgiveness for our own sins.  He nourishes us with the light of His presence.  Then, He expects us to bear fruit that can be shared with others.

When we come to church we receive all we need to bear that fruit.  We are watered and feed by His presence.  If we hold it in then it rots and dies but if we share with others His love and presence then it grows and produces great love.

See you in church Sunday (in God’s house at His table).

In Christ’s Love;
